Memory Verse Fun Review

SCRIPTURE VERSE

Psalm 150: 1-2  Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Psalm 150:1-2

Question: Say, How many of you play an instrument, or are taking lessons? Raise your hand. Thank you, you may put your hands down. "Look at this instrument. How can I praise God with this? (Give some kids an opportunity to answer. Demonstrate the instrument.) This instrument makes sounds that can glorify God. You must practice an instrument every day to improve and develop your music skills. Then, God can use you to glorify Him as you play.

(Show a Bible) God uses his Word to help us live every day to glorify Him. Say, “This is God’s Word. We are going to review our memory verses from God’s Word." (Read to the children from the bible the verses for today. You can also have a child read the verses to the class, or place on PowerPoint and have all the children read the selected verses in unison).

Consider this, we can worship God by praising Him. This means to clap or put your hands in the air for Jesus to show Him you appreciate Him and love Him. It means to sing to Him and worship Him. (Point to the word firmament) God gave us the firmament which means the sky above. He created the firmament on the second day of creation. (Point to the word acts). Jesus is so mighty and strong and will watch over us and our family. He has done such mighty acts when He created you and me. An act is something that we deliberately do. God made you in purpose - to worship and prasie Him. He loves you, and He loves the whole world so much!

If you do not know Jesus who created the heavens and firmament, you can know Him today. If you do know Jesus, you can praise Him for saving you from your sin.

GAME

(1) Clap you hands, (2) stomp you feet, (3) pat your head, (4) hands on you hips, (5) hug yourself, (6) hold hands with the person beside you, and (7) turn around. One at a time, have the person who has a slip of paper to come up front and lead the kids in doing the action on the slip of paper as the whole class says the verse. After doing this 7 times, then have the whole group say the verse from memory one time. Turn the dry erase borad around out of sight.
