CandyCane Christmas Recitation
Candy Cane Christmas
Props: Candy canes
Kids: 9 speaking parts (3 additional children as an option)
Note from Author: This is a simple recitation for children. Who need a part at the last minute. A PowerPoint has been provided to add to this presentation. http://www.scribd.com/doc/73289752/Candy-Cane-powerpoint-Recitation) This is good when mics are not working well, kids do not speak up. Or you have those who cannot hear well in the church.
Other suggestions to consider for what works best for you:
- Child can hold up a card with their letter.
- Child can hold a candy cane.
- Child can wear white and red t – shirts alternating.
- Child can wear a red and white bow tied around their neck.
All children step forward and hold up their candy cane when they speak. They step back into place for the next child to speak.

Three (additional or using the same above) children hold their candy canes high and say this one at a time:
- 1. The red reminds us of Jesus’ blood shed for our sins.
- 2. The white reminds us of a heart made pure.
- 3. The taste reminds us of how a Christian appears to others – pleasant!
ALL: Let us seek to have a candy cane Christmas this season!
SONG: Let Us Have a Candy Cane Christmas
(Let It Snow – tune, verse only) do choreography using the candy cane.
Let us have a candy cane Christmas
Lots of flavor and some fun
We can decorate the tree with peppermint
Add some lights and gold tinsel, too.
Don’t forget to add the angel
Who shared the message clear!
Let us have a candy cane Christmas,
Lots of flavor and some fun!
