The Holy Spirit Gives Us a Clean House

 

 

A skit on the Holy Spirit filling us with his love for either two puppets or two youth.

 

Jan: I hate this house!

Joan: How come?

Jan: Look at it…..my room is a mess…clothes are all over the place. And I have to get it cleaned up or I cannot go to the youth outing next week.

Joan: That’s tough! What are you going to do about it?

Jan: I guess clean it up.

Joan: Who would want to live here – all this mess…..I hate this color…my room…and these books, papers. I’ll just stuff them under the bed.

Jan: You mean you are going to hide them?

Joan: Who will know? My mom never looks under my bed.

Jan: What if she did this time, and you had to miss the youth event?

Joan: All right….I guess you are right. But it would be easier. It will take me years to clean this room.

Jan: I doubt it, but you will feel better about it. Your room reminds me of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Joan: What do you mean?

Jan: Well, when He comes into our hearts, He takes out all the rubbish in our hearts and fills us with love.

Joan: Just like that?

Jan: When we give our lives to him in obedience, and make Him Lord of our Life, he comes and takes away our selfish ambitions and fills us with a holy love for everyone.

Joan: Even our enemies?

Jan: Especially our enemies.

Joan: That sounds cool! Like getting rid of all this mess in the room? Making it all clean inside?

Jan: That’s it! And the Holy Spirit does not allow us to hide anything. We have to admit to Him who we really are and ask his blessing to fill us with love divine.

Joan: I don’t’ want to live like this; I think I need His help more than I realize. I’m sure it will make mom happy, too.

Jan: Let us pray and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with His love. (Exit)
