My Mother…

A recitation for 8 children. Suggestions for props are provided.

Child 1: My Mother is as sticky as honey maple syrup that she puts over my pancakes. She is everywhere! (Hold up a bottle of syrup)

Child 2: My Mother is strong because she pushes the vacuum around every week (Show and flex both arm muscles)

Child 3: My Mother is kind because she nurses me when I am sick (Carry a Doctor kit or hold up high a box of Band-Aids)

Child 4: My Mother loves me because she does not yell at me (Both hands over ears)

Child 5: My Mother is sweet like my favorite jelly, because she bakes us goodies (Hold up a box of brownies)

Child 6: My Mother is helpful; she helps me with my homework at night (Hold up a reader)

Child 7: My Mother loves God. She reads the Bible to us before bedtime (Hold up a Bible)

Child 8: My Mother talks to God and we all pray together at mealtime (Hold praying hands)

All Children: We love our mothers here today, and thank God for all of you. Happy Mother’s Day!
