From the Easter Bunny

Suggestions: The Easter Bunny shares the true meaning of Easter with the church or kids as he/she wears an Easter Bunny costume.

Easter is a time to celebrate!

Many families celebrate with colored eggs, eggs hunts, large dinners, chocolate bunnies, yellow chicks and much more. It is fun and easy to get caught up in all this excitement.

So, enjoy the holiday, have chocolate, bunnies, and eggs but remember that the celebration of the resurrection of Christ is what Easter is all about. If we did not have this, we would really have NOTHING to rejoice about.

We must remember to keep Christ the most important part of our celebration. He is the greatest celebration of ALL!

So you may wonder, where did I come from? Research shares that the Easter Bunny originated from the pagan festival many years ago. Some people brought the idea to America where eventually people began to accept this as part of the Easter tradition and celebration. Kids loved the Easter bunny and it made them happy.

Parents…kids…I love you…but God loves you more. He is the only one that can make us truly happy. The best way that you can celebrate Easter is as having a family time and sharing the meaning of this great holiday with your children. Help them to look past the bunnies, and fun, and excitement to enjoy the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Tell them Jesus came for the whole world to show them how much HE loved them by offering himself as a sacrifice upon a cross. He was buried, but did not stay there. He arose and ascended to heaven, and will one day come again for those who have trusted in him and been forgiven from all their sins.

Yes, Easter is a time to celebrate – enjoy the chocolate, bunnies, and fun, but remember not to leave Jesus out of your celebration, for HE is the true reason why we celebrate Easter.
