Our Guardian Angel
Our Guardian Angel
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that if we will believe on Him, we will have eternal life" (John 3:16).
As she lay in her hospice bed the dying patient shared this story with me: While on a trip one time with her sister, she saw a beautiful angel that she fell in love with. Due to the cost of the angel, she would not purchase it. It was when she got very ill and was taken to hospice that her sister remembered the angel that she had displayed such interest in on that trip. He sister along with her husband got into their car and drove a great distance to the shop where the angel had been seen in a window. There it was sitting in the window - for sale. The problem was - the store was closed for the season. What would they do? They called the number on the door to find out the owner was gone to Florida for the season. They were disappointed, but would not give up the search. Calling another number they found, they spoke to the owner's spouse who agreed to come to the store, open it, and allow them to purchase the angel. In the meantime, they locked themselves out of their car having to wait for someone to come and get the car door open for them.
The sick patient showed me the angel that was there and then gave me a picture of her with the angel that had been taken with her in the hospice bed.
I am glad that Jesus has gone to great lengths for our salvation. He came a long way - from heaven to die on a cross for our sins. He has provided us a angels to watch over us day and night. He loves us so much that He is willing do anything to help us make it to heaven. The cost was not too great for Him to willingly give up His life for ours. He paid a great price for us and we owe our lives to Him. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that if we will believe on Him, we will have eternal life" (John 3:16). This dear lady is now in heaven with her angels, all because God paid a great price for her. He will not give up on us as her sister did not give up on presenting her a best gift in her final stages of life.
