Be Still and Know Response Reading

Be Still and Know

Response Reading based on Psalm 46

Leader: God is our refuge and strength a sanctuary of shelter for our soul. He is our safe place to where we go when we are in trouble and in need of help.

Congregation: We do not have to fear whatever happens in our lives. God is like a strong city with great walls to protect us against the storms of life that surround us.

Leader: Though the waters roar around us and the mountains quake, God will be a tall mountain around us to hold check the tide of storm at his command. His is Almighty!

Congregation: He will provide us a river that will make us glad and feel safe. Fountains of cooling joy will bathe our soul.

Leader: God is in the midst of this river and He will not be moved. He will provide what we need in the early dawn and at the setting of the sun. Praise His name!

Congregation: Difficulties will come our way, tribulations will befall us, temptations will enter our minds, Satan will make war on our soul, on our families, and our church, but God will lift up His mighty voice and conquer the battle as we use the shield of faith in His name.

Leader: The Lord God Almighty is with us, we are not alone in our struggles. We can stand fearless and courageous before the mighty roar of the enemy of our soul. Nations will rise against us, wars will not cease, desolations continue on the earth, but our God reigns.

Congregation: He reigns from his most holy place where he dwells as our hearts are silent before Him.

Leader: Pay attention and see all the marvelous things he has prepared for us. Step up in faith and take a long look everywhere – for He is there. He will exalt us as His people and protect our nation - fighting for us. Look up, for His redemption is nigh the gates. He will be exalted in all the earth.

Congregation: Let us be still before Him in wonder and amazement. Let us exalt His name in all the earth. He is the Lord of Host, and Holy is His name.

All: Be still and know that I am God. Think of that! Be still.
