THE TINIEST STAR

Recitation for 12 children. Make stars using metallic gold or silver material. Leave the bottom open so they can slip the star over their head. Cut a hole to show their face. Fill the stars with stuffing so the points stand out into a nice star shape.

Star One – I am the brightest star up here. (Turns all around before continues speaking) Everyone can see me shine brightly over Baby Jesus.

Star Two – I don’t think you should brag about it. We all are shinning up here.

Star Three – Are you two arguing again? What happened to the last two stars?

Star Four: I remember that night….they both fell from the sky and disappeared.

Star Five: How terrible! I hope that doesn’t happen to me. I like it up here.

Star Six – It’s cool! I can see everyone! (Turns head back and forth putting hand over eyebrow)

Star Seven – I think so, too! I wonder if the Wiseman can see all of us up here.

Star Eight – They see only the biggest star!

Star Nine – What do you mean? (Stands up tall on tiptoes) I have grown a lot this year.

Star Ten – Ha! You’re the smallest star here. Look at you!

Star Eleven – Really, the Bible says that the star in the east led the Wisemen to Baby Jesus. So that must be one star!

Star Twelve – God made ALL the stars in the heavens; it says so in the book of Genesis.

Star Nine – (Steps forward) I am thankful I am important to God or He would not have placed me here. I will shine brightly every night so all the world can see my light.

Song: This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine, this little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
