No. 7 God Created Trees
Toddler & Preschool Curriculum Week 7
God Created the Trees
To the Teacher: Begin planning and preparation with prayer. A letter has been provided for you to send home to parents as it is good they can see what is happening in Sunday school and review at home if possible. Arrive early to set things up, relax a moment in prayer, and be there when parents arrive with their children.
Materials needed: Apples for snack, printouts of trees and leaves, or you may cut out smaller leaves for the tree picture, large poster picture of trees.
Schedule & Lesson
Free time (10 minutes) Greet parents with a smile and say something nice to their child in greeting. Make parents feel happy to leave their child in the Toddler room. Make sure all toys are sanitized weekly and ready to play with. You may want to set out different toys once a month while storing away some of the other toys.
Prayer & Apple Snack (10 minutes) Kids should wash their hands and sit down at the table. They need to drink from a small cup and use a napkin to wipe their hands. Teach them a simple short pray before eating. Establish this so they learn good habits and manners. Suggestion for snack: apple slices to go with fruit trees that God made.

Lesson Time (5-10 minutes) Use good expression for the kids and make it exciting.
God made many different kinds of trees. He made big trees and he made small trees. He made tall trees and short trees. God made trees with yellow leaves, red leaves, and green leaves. The leaves are so pretty especially in the fall.
Do you have any trees in your yard? What color are the leaves on your trees? Sometimes leaves will change colors. They will turn from green to red and yellow. God made beautiful trees with colorful leaves.
God made apple trees with big apples that hang from the branches. He made apples trees, pear trees, orange trees, and cherry trees. We have to take care of fruit tree trees so bugs do not get inside the fruit. Would you like a worm in your apple? Of course not! An apple must be sprayed with a special chemical so worms do not grow inside it. Yuck! I do not like worms in apples. You will not get a worm in an apple if it comes from the grocery store. They take good care of the apples we buy at the grocery store. They do not have any worms in them.
I am so glad that God made trees. He made trees with many pretty colors of leave. God made fruit trees with apples, oranges, and cherries. I am glad God gave us fruit trees. Fruit is so good for us. Let's stand and sing our tree songs again. Stand tall to make nice tall trees. Let's hold out our arms for the branches.
God Made Trees (stand to sing)
God Made trees,
(Hold arms out to side like tree branches)
God made trees,
I'm so glad God made the trees.
(Clap 3 times for "I'm so glad. Hold arms out again to side like tree branches on the word trees)
I am so glad God made the trees. I am glad God made you and he made me. Thank you God for making the trees. Can you say, "Thank you, God?"
Craft (10 minutes)
