Toddler & Preschool Curriculum
GOD MADE ME

Lesson Two (1st Quarter)
To the Teacher: Begin your planning and preparation with prayer. Keep a prayerful heart as you teach these little ones. Read Genesis chapter 1 this week.
Material needed: Construction paper, glue, crayons, snack, napkins, small cups, moving eyes, magazine pictures of food, and stickers. Discourage them from bringing in their own cups as another child could easily get it and drink from it. The experience of drinking from a cup is good for them.
Schedule & Lesson
Free time (10 minutes) Use this time to check in the toddlers, and be friendly as you greet parents. Their child is the most important, and you want parents to feel comfortable with their child being in your care. Provide toys in good condition, and sanitized for them to play with.
Prayer & Snack Time (10 minutes) Get them in the habit of washing their hands. Place all snacks on a paper towel and give them a small amount of liquid in a paper cup. Require them to sit at the table to eat. It may take a little time, but they will get used to it. Suggestions: animal crackers, graham crackers, fish crackers.
Music (3 minutes) sing several times.
God loves me,
God loves me,
I'm so glad that God love me.
Directions for chorography: Point finger up high on the word "God". Cross hands over chest for the word "loves". Clap three times with each word of "I'm so glad".
Lesson Time (5 minutes) Demonstrate each part of the body as it is mentioned in the lesson today.
God made you. God made your fingers. Wiggle you fingers. Our fingers eat food like our snacks. Yummy! I like snacks like (name the snack today). Our fingers play with blocks and cars. God made your nose. Wiggle your nose. Our nose smells the flowers, and yummy snacks like (name snack today). God made your hands. Shake your hands. Your hands can color a pretty picture, and pick a pretty flower. God made your eyes. Blink you eyes. What do we see in the room here (Name some things on the walls and around the room). God made your feet. Stomp your feet. We walk to church on Sunday. Did you walk to church today? We walk in the room. God made your ears. Touch your ears - one, two. God made two ears - one, two. We hear with our ears good things about God. God made your mouth. Say, "God made me".
God is good and God is kind. He made you! (Point to them). God is in heaven (point up high), and he loves you, (point to them) and He loves me (point to yourself). God loves everyone (spread arms wide). Can you do that? Can you spread your arms real wide to show me how much God loves everyone? He loves you this much (spread arms wide). God knows everything (Point both fingers and tap sides of your head). He knows you (point to them) and he knows me (point to yourself).
God made your fingers (wiggle your fingers); God made your feet (stomp your feet); God make your ears (count one-two); God made your eyes (blink your eyes); God made your hands (shake your hands); God made your nose (wiggle your nose); God made your mouth - say, "God Made Me"! I need to hear that louder, "God Made Me". Oh, a little louder, "God Made Me". That was great!
Let's sing "God Made Me" (Sing it several times).

Give each child two pieces of construction paper. Fold in half to make a booklet and staple in the middle. Put the name of each child on the front. Allow them to color and decorate the cover with stickers. On page one trace their hand, on page two glue some moving eyes, on page three trace their foot, on page four help them draw an ear, on page five provide a picture of some food to glue (write "good things to smell & eat"), on page six write "God Made Me" and encourage them to make a circle picture themselves. Preschool craft: Color letter "M" for "ME". Staple or glue to a paperplate. Make a hole punch in one end and tie a peice of yarn to hang over kid's head to take home.
