What is Easter all about? Fun, excitement, Easter bunnies, Easter baskets, chocolate crosses, chocolate candy, jelly beans, yellow chicks, Egg hunts, spring clothes, pretty summer hats, lilies?
What is Easter all about? Jesus arose from the grave.
When Jesus was here on earth, he had a special friend whom he loved very much. His name was Lazarus. Lazarus had two sisters, Martha and Mary. One day, Lazarus got very sick; it looked like he would die. Word was sent for Jesus to come and help him. In the meantime, Lazarus died and was buried by his family and friends. When Jesus finally got there, he found his friend gone and the Bible tells us that “Jesus wept”. That was a very sad time for him. It is a sad time for us, too when we lose someone whom we love very much. Maybe you have lost someone close to you before.
Jesus asked to be taken to where they had placed Lazarus. When He got to the tomb, Jesus called out loud for Lazarus to come forth out of the tomb. The people were amazed and probably some frightened. Lazarus walked right out of the grave that he had lain in for three days. The people unwrapped all the cloths that were around him.
When Jesus died on the cross, He was in the grave three days as well when He came right out of the tomb. All things are possible with God. It was the Father’s will that Jesus arose from the grave in order to go back to heaven and prepare us a beautiful place to go to someday.
Easter is all about his resurrecting. It is because He has risen that we can have eternal life, and see Him again someday in heaven.
Did Jesus die for only someone? He died for everyone! Anyone who believes on Him confessing their sins he will forgive. His salvation is for teachers, our relatives, and anyone who believes on Him. Are there any exceptions? No, way! He gave His live for the whole world. (Write the bold words on the board)
If you do not now Him today, you can. It is as simple as ABC.
Ask him into your heart by confessing your sins to him,
Believe He died for you, and will forgive you,
Claim His promise and thank Him for what he had done for you today!
