Twas the Night Before With the Children

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the church
The children were restless getting worse and worse

The teachers were puzzled not understanding why

When this is what they decided to try

Have a big party with lots of goodies we'll see

With so many presents under the Christmas tree

Have some fun games of Christmas to start

And give them much fun right from the heart.

The teachers arrived to set up the fun

And we had only just hardly begun

When all of the sudden a noise was heard

That causes us all a great stir

There in his office sat the senior pastor,

With his head in his arms without any stir

He was moaning and groaning without any relief

And this is all he said you'll see, you'll see

We prepared board games, crafts, and much more

There were art projects, paint, and even more

We baked cookies, prepared dough

Cut outs for cards and set up high and low

We chatted and laughed as we continued on

Until we heard the bus drive up and the kids on the run

Headed for the fun not a restless bone was heard

As we expectantly waited for all what was worth

They sprang in the room, faces all aglow

Big kids, little kids, and toddler all did go

With friends and more friends they all did arrived

We counted and counted and stopped at 65.

"Wow!" We had a night ahead of us...but thank God

for the 65.
